We sat down with one of our beloved collaborators, Eloise, the artist behind our bestselling Born to Be a Skier print — a playful ski-themed design inspired by vintage travel posters and snowy mountain escapes.
Tell us a bit about your creative background.
“I studied illustration at Central Saint Martins and have always loved visual storytelling — especially when it feels a little nostalgic. I started freelancing with small brands who valued hand-drawn work, and I’ve been lucky to collaborate with some amazing creative founders, like at Le Petit Maus.”
How did the idea for Born to Be a Skier come to life?
“The team sent me a mood board filled with ski chalets, retro snow suits, and lots of muted pastels. We wanted to create a scene that felt whimsical, slightly vintage, and perfect for winter babies — but not too seasonal. I imagined a baby’s first snowy holiday, and it just came together.”
Why do you think illustrated textiles are so special?
“They tell a story. A lot of baby products can feel generic, but when you have a swaddle that feels like a little work of art, it becomes something you want to keep. Something that grows with the child. I’ve had parents message me saying they’re framing the swaddle after their baby outgrew it — and honestly, that’s the best compliment.”
